06 Feb 2021 Food Drive for Food Cupboard, CAP Closet Feb 06, 2021 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM The Rotary Club of Pittsford’s next food drive is set for Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Spiegel Pittsford Community Center parking lot, 35 Lincoln Ave. in Pittsford. The club partners with the Town of Pittsford for the drives and volunteers will collect canned and packaged goods not only for the Pittsford Food Cupboard but for the Rochester-area CAP Closet (Children Awaiting Parents), who is seeking pasta, sauce and canned fruits or vegetables for its “Dinner in a Bag” program. The CAP Closet is a volunteer-run community closet for people in need that serves foster families, families displaced by a house fire, domestic abuse or financial hardship. Rotarians will be collecting canned and other packaged foods, rain or shine. The collectors will be taking precautionary measures such as wearing face coverings and gloves and maintaining safe distances. The Pittsford Food Cupboard and CAP Closet are among many organizations benefiting from Pittsford Rotary's mission of service.
