Pittsford Rotary's Annual Holiday Party was booked at the Hanneman Room at the Highlands during a winter storm that caused a 5-hour power outage, and a traffic nightmare with many vehicles in ditches, highway medians,  and smashed against guard rails from slick snow-covered highways. For those of us who braved the storm, we were impressed with the Highland's management. They quickly moved the venue to the main dining area, which had power, a piano and PA system. After a few announcements, almost everyone took home a raffle prize. Sharon Garofanello, won the 50-50 raffle but donated her share to the Pittsford Food Cupboard.

We were joined by Bertin Mboko's spouse, Marie Mboko, Pam's son, Dustin Wright, Grace's daughter, Victoria Soong, and Ed Francis' widow and honorary member, Linda Francis. Lynn Freshman sang a couple of traditional Christmas songs before engaging everyone in the traditional Rotary's version of "A Partridge on a Pear Tree." It goes like this: On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, an Aussie exchange student... You get the gist.
