Pittsford and Honeoye Falls-Mendon Rotary clubs collaborated on the annual Teddy Bear Picnic on September 24 at Kings Bend Park in Pittsford. This year, they donated over 50 Teddy bears, stuffed toys and baby blankets which will be used by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and area Emergency Medical Technicians to help soothe children caught in an emergency or traumatic situation.

Event Chair, Bruce Spector, along with Chef Jim Cameron grilled chicken breast and steaks for the Rotarian's extended families and guests Monroe County Captain Bob Clar, Pittsford Volunteer Fire Chief Rob Cline with his wife Kelly Cline, and Deputy Director of Operations for the Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance, Don Hammond. Everyone brought an appetizer, side dish or dessert to accompany the main course.

Singing sensations, Drew Moore and Lynn Freshman, started the evening's program by leading the "The Star Spangled Banner".  This year was different from prior picnics with the induction of new member, Colleen Farley, to the Pittsford Rotary Club.  Also unprecedented, ADG Susie Rose and HF/M President Tracy Main were asked to be part of the induction ceremony.

Winner of the 50/50 raffle, Matt O'Connor, is donating his $185 winnings to the RI Polio Fund.  Total collection of $193 along with Matt's donation will be matched by the Rotary Club of Pittsford and HF/M Foundations for a grand total of $756. Thank you, and great job everyone!
