What we call the East Street Clean-up is actually part of Monroe County's Adopt-a-Highway program. The Rotary Club of Pittsford has participated in picking up litter along East Street for the past 13 years. On Saturday, April 18, Rotarian Dylan Brown lead a group of Rotarians including Town Judge Bill Taylor, Kevin O'Grady, Grace Soong, Pete Crooker, Richard Colby, Bill Pieper, Bob Vukosic and Matt Wahl to clean both sides of East Street. They met at the Pittsford Little League's Habecker Field parking lot at 8 AM and proceeded down the three-mile stretch.

It was a beautiful, cool day to pick up litter.  Many commuters would slow down and thank the volunteers for keeping the Town clean. They filled up about six 96-gallon trash bags, securely tied them up and left them along the road side for the Monroe County maintenance crew to pick-up and dispose off on Monday.
