Alan Wood greeted our guests and fellow Rotarians at the door today.  We welcomed Barbara O'Donnell to her first Rotary meeting.  She is interested in joining a Rotary Club, and was invited by President Grace.  Barb is originally from Anacortes, WA and moved here from Portland Oregon. Welcome Barb!  We look forward to seeing you at our next Club meeting.

Tom Weldgen of the Fairport Rotary Club also joined us today.  Marty Van Dussen was presented his membership packet at today's meeting.  Peter Brown, membership Chair was not available last week to present it to him.

President Grace reminded the old and new officers to attend tomorrow's Board of Director's meeting.  Pete Crooker said that about 18 members and guests attended last week's fellowship at Mario's.  We were located at the bar, and owner, Mario Daniele, stopped by to say hello to the group.  Mario's Italian Restaurant has been a long-time supporter of our Club's fund raising events and activities.

Matt O'Connor introduced today's guest speaker, Curt Smith.  Mr. Smith's speech raised a few eyebrows among our members.  Curt is very outspoken about his political views, about our current and previous Presidents and administration, and about the candidates for next year's big election.  Mr. Smith is a Gate House Media columnist, Upstate New York CBS and Fox TV affiliate political analyst, award-winning National Public Radio affiliate commentator, former Presidential speech writer, having written more addresses than anyone else for President George H. W. Bush, and author, his sixteenth and newest book George H.W. Bush: Character at the Core.  Mr. Smith has been named to the prestigious Judson Welliver Society of former Presidential speech writers.
