Our 50th Annual Pasta Supper turned out to be an incredibly memorable event as we served well over 800 meals, a Club record.  And as we realized later that evening after final clean-up of the Pittsford Mendon High School Commons, November 8, 2016, won’t be forgotten for more than just the fabulous pasta dinners we served.

Co-chair Pete Crooker authored a heartfelt thank-you on behalf of fellow chair Don Henderson.  Pete’s message to the Club follows.

Pittsford Rotarians:

Don Henderson and I wish to express our sincere gratitude for the great effort club members turned in for the 50th Annual Election Day Pasta Supper Tuesday evening.

Surplus food has been donated and everything has been wrapped up except for some of the members who have yet to settle up with ticketmaster Harold McAulliffe.

In a nutshell, 2016 ticket sales relative to 2015 sales ended as follows:
    “Dine In” tickets taken at the line = 345, up 29 over last year;
    “Take Out” tickets collected = 106, up 31 over last year;
    “Drive Thru” tickets collected = 240, up 48;
    Total tickets collected = 691, up 108.
All in all, we served over 800 meals including complimentary ones to Veterans, Interactors, custodians, ARC home residents and hospitality student volunteers from RIT and MCC.

Many offered praise for "not just your average pasta fund raising meal, but an excellent one."

Don and the entire kitchen crew -- and Luke Stuart and his take-out/drive-thru squad -- really made the supper a fabulous success.

As far as sponsorships went, we had 19 Bronze/Silver/Gold sponsors, resulting in $3600.  The first-time “Poster Sponsor” effort resulted in 7 new backers, yielding an additional $350.

In closing, I have enjoyed working with Don and club members and friends of Rotary for the past 15 years as co-chair of the supper; I am looking forward to a much smaller role hereafter.

President Matt adds a personal thanks to all of our participating membership and our outstanding Co-chairs Peter and Don. You all absolutely exemplify our motto of “Service above Self.”
